Enhydro Quartz

Back to ‘stone stuff’ a while ago from certain folk there was a huge demand for water trapped within quartz due to it’s alleged purity, occasionally we’d see a few but now after a little closer examination we have a batch available, here a couple of samples. Click on the pics to see larger images, we’ve but a red cross below the ‘bubble’. The bubbles on these two actually move when you turn the crystal side to side. Obviously water isn’t the only liquid that is captured inside quartz. Occasionally we have points with oil inside which fluoresces under UV light(if you’re looking to buy one of these from ‘a dealer’ note that if the label says petroleum the price maybe be higher than a comparable ‘oil’ one).

Latest Natural Sapphires

Currently a favourite of mine, I think the shape and formation of sapphire crystals are very intriguing.
This particular blue sapphire has an unusual twin termination on it’s tip.

Another favourite is this purple colour sapphire chunk again from Sri Lanka

Canadian Ammolites

This gorgeous material is from the fossil shells of  the ammonite families of Placenticeras meeki and Placenticeras intercalare. This organic gemstone is predominately comprised of Aragonite which has been preserved naturally. Under different conditions the aragonite would have changed to calcite. Only really commercially mined since 1979. Its an amazingly vibrant material which is still relatively new to the market.
Most valued pieces are those with vibrant colours, fragmented or skin like appearances are common. However we’re finding that they all look great!
We currently have silver ammolite jewellery and ammolite pieces, rough fragments and chunks are on their way!

A couple of crystals from July’s new delivery.

Recently we found an interesting quartz formation very much like a japan law twin where a crystal termination sits at a right angle to another:-

Not having seen one for sometime it was quite a find!

Another favourite which could easily be justified as a take home purchase would be this gorgeous natural blue and purple sapphire chunk from Sri Lanka

Have you worked with one of these milky translucent quartz points, very interesting from the Himalayan regions.Save

Oh dear….and what’s new…

‘oh dear’ a phrase my little boy(16 months old) happens to repeat came to mind recently when I had a message from Fedex, can you call us about a shipment, funnily enough i was wondering why this particular shipment was taking longer than normal so i called…

I can’t seem to see any problem….Oh hold on a moment I’ll put you through to someone…
The impression I got was someone reading an update as they were talking and it went something like…unfortunately one of our trucks carrying your shipment and others was involved in an accident causing considerable damage to the rear of the vehicle however not all the cartons were damaged in the collision (at this point I thought ‘oh dear’)..the conversion continued.then there was a fire…then I said oh dear several times…
At least no-one was hurt, I know this because I asked, I mention this because according to the Fedex rep. I was the only one to ask…oh dear again.

Yes we did have a delivery, luckily everything was fine, however there was a ‘burnt singed’ fragrance on the packaging.(don’t worry it didn’t contain any crystals!)
More soon…

If you have any particular requests, let us know and we will consider those first!

This last one is a particular favourite, a clear quartz phantom crystal ball which exhibits a lovely effect when rotated, it will be available to purchase soon…shop for other phantom crystal ball

Mala Beads

Tibetan bone mala

Recently we’ve managed to restock with mala beads. As you’re probably aware many faiths use mala’s or a similar style of prayer bead.
Having used them in the type of yoga I practise(Kundalini Yoga) I can share with you my experiences.
Although most malas are recognised by their 108 beads with a single often 3 way bead(guru bead) at the bottom and a tassle(which represents the petals of a lotus) malas can be divisible by 108 so 54, 27 are also used.
Occasionally you may also see a mala rings.

A mala can be used in either hand, lots of people use the thumb to move each bead reciting a mantra or prayer, the mantras can be said in part or full with the turn of the bead depending on the mantra.

middle finger meridian – patience

Each finger on the hand represents a planet, a part of the brain and a physical or emotional system. So if you are working on yourself you may want to ensure the beads pass the meridian of the require finger.
Index finger is for knowledge, prosperity and Jupiter
Middle finger for patience and Saturn
Ring finger health, energy, nervous system and the Sun
Little finger intellect, communication skills and Mercury

snow white quartz mala

A mala can be created from many materials, wood malas our favourite are a sandalwood mala where you can catch a faint fragrance of sandalwood when you meditate. Seed mala with lotus seeds or Rudhraksha.

There are many types of gemstone mala, clear quartz crystal mala, amethyst,  black agate, jasper, carnelian or even perhaps a custom combination of different gems or perhaps quartz with rudhraksha.

Don’t forget all materials have properties which will help so take care of your mala keep it safe when you’re not using it. Or perhaps wear it around your neck or wrist to keep it with you ready for an impromptu meditation.

The important thing is to meditate regularly so whichever system or method you choose to follow- just be!

when is a moonstone a blue moonstone & ‘O’ delivery news!

dark black shade, the darkest black seem to be from Madagascar with a lighter shade from India.

Moonstone appears in different guises;

moonstone tumblestones

with a gorgeous blue colour often called rainbow moonstone, again most commonly from India.

Then there is the Sri Lankan blue moonstone which we feel is in a different league the stone appears colourless but the blue just emanates from within.

As we are bombarded by the ‘O’ word (olympics) we just have to mention that deliveries to the London ‘olympic zone’ although dispatched promptly as normal may be slightly delayed including Royal Mail ‘Special Delivery’ services.
The rest of the UK and the world shall be unaffected.
